I’m a Learning Technologist for a large UK university, and this is my new blog about technology and how it can and should be used within the education industry.
So, welcome!
Let me start by putting out a call to anyone with an opinion to share on the matter – I want to know what you think, so lets get talking!
For my first post, I want to find out what software people think is invaluable to an educator (although I’m primarily concerned with Higher & Further Education, I’m sure a lot of this also applies at Primary/Secondary/Junior/High/etc School level as well).
I’m currently setting up a few laptops for our academic staff to borrow to allow them easy access to a variety of software that may assist them in various tasks within their particular teaching areas. Below is a list of the software I’m going to be using. My question is this:
What have I missed? What areas haven’t I thought about? What software (free or otherwise) should I be including?
(Note, I have a very small budget to work with, but can purchase a few licences of software if it seems like something my academics would use! This is also why certain options are included below, as there is no budget for very expensive alternatives – although I’d still like to hear about these!)
Leave a comment, and let me know!
